Hi, my name is Xintian (X is similar to the ‘sh’ sound). And this website is where I keep my thoughts about digital marketing, data analytics, and other things such as travelling. I write in both English and Chinese.
I have worked as a website editor at the Chinese online version of the Wall Street Journal and as an analyst at a robotics startup called Vincross. In both jobs, I spent most of my time on data analytics (I used to live in Google Analytics) and providing actionable insights. That being said, those experiences are in fact entirely different. At Vincross, my job focused on growth, such as how I could make potential consumers aware of our brand and eventually convert. At the WSJ, my job was more about how to satisfy the changing need of the existing audience. In a word, I have experience in both how to scale and how to retain.
In Sept 2021, I moved to the UK to pursue MSc Marketing and Technology at Goldsmiths University of London. This experience has been eye-opening for me: I’ve been opened up to the qualitative analytics approach, and I’ve seen things that I could never see in Google Analytics. I hope to write about some of the projects I’ve been working on and share them with you here.
